VOLYA FILMS produces feature films, creative documentaries and animation, mainly as international co-productions. Recent titles are TOTEM (Sander Burger, Cinekid 2022), MRS F. (Chris van der Vorm, WP One World FF & Movies that Matter FF 2020), THE MOLE AGENT (Maite Alberdi, WP Sundance FF 2020) and A LAND IMAGINED (Yeo Siew Hua, WP Locarno FF 2018 Intnl Comp winner Golden Leopard and winner Golden Star El Ghouna FF.
Volya Films is a member of the EAVE, Eurodoc, and ACE networks and is a member of the NAPA.
Born and raised in France, Denis Vaslin has a background in distribution and production, before moving to The Netherlands in 2000. After four years working as line producer (a.o. for THE TULSE LUPER SUITCASES by Peter Greenaway), he started Volya Films. Denis is a graduate of the Binger Lab in 2004, EAVE 2006 and EURODOC 2007. He is a member of the European Film Academy. He is also member of the Produire au Sud pedagogical team from the 3 Continents Festival in Nantes/France. In 2011, he created Mandra Films in France.
Fleur Knopperts is producer at Volya Films since 2009. Previously, she was Director of the FORUM for international co-financing of documentaries at IDFA in Amsterdam, was co-ordinator of the Jan Vrijman Fund (now IDFA Bertha Fund) and she was Industry & Marketplace Director at Sheffield Doc/Fest. She is a graduate of the EAVE and Eurodoc programmes.
